W&BAWaveney & Blyth Arts is excited to be planning it’s sixth Sculpture Trail in the Waveney Valley, part of ‘Celebrate Waveney & Blyth 2019’, an annual programme of events that highlight the unique character of the two valleys situated in north Suffolk and south Norfolk. Last year the trail at our Raveningham site attracted 45 artists and over 3000 visitors in 2018, we are delighted to be producing our 2019 sculpture trail once again at Raveningham, 12 miles south of Norwich.

The Raveningham Centre site is located in the grounds of Castell Farm, a Tudor farmhouse, which has an old orchard, wooded areas and meadows. The Cinnamon Gallery is based in Castell Farm and will feature additional works by sculptors on the trail as well as a selection of other artists. The Ravenous Cafe is on site and as well as delicious food will feature an exhibition of works by Harleston and Waveney Art Trail Collective. Over the years Raveningham has become known as a unique venue for a number of arts activities including Festival in the Garden, Easter Folk Day, Antiques Fairs, Norfolk Open Studios, Art Exhibitions and Musical Events.

Raveningham Sculpture Trail 2019

The Curator’s overall vision is to continue to encourage public interaction with contemporary art in a rural setting at the beautiful site at Raveningham.

We have an exciting opportunity here to create something positive, celebrating the power of the arts to engage and inspire a diverse audience. We are particularly interested in artists and sculptors interested in creating site specific work.

Most artwork on the trail will be available for sale and this year there will be four awards for participating artists, The Visitor’s Choice 1st £250, 2nd £175, 3rd £125 and The Curator’s Choice £250.

2018 Visitor’s Choice – James Barrett-Nobbs

2018 Curator’s Choice – Bee Springwood

2017 Visitor’s Choice – Rachael Long, Rhino.

2017 Curator’s Choice – Lindsay Slade, Ceramic Window.
